Traffic Awareness Drive for Students by Mumbai Police’s Ranragini Unit
Mumbai Police’s Ranragini Unit trains 466 school students on traffic safety rules, discipline, and road awareness.
The Mumbai Police’s Ranragini Unit recently organized a special “Traffic Awareness and Discipline Training Program” across 466 schools in Mumbai, aiming to educate students about the importance of following traffic rules and maintaining road safety.
Under the guidance of senior police officials, the Ranragini team conducted interactive sessions and live demonstrations to teach students how to navigate safely on roads. The training also covered the significance of wearing helmets, using seat belts, obeying traffic signals, and avoiding mobile phone usage while driving.
During the sessions, students learned about traffic signs, pedestrian rules, and the correct use of zebra crossings. Police officers encouraged them to become “young ambassadors of traffic discipline” by spreading awareness among their families and communities.
Special focus was given to the participation of girls in the campaign, promoting the message that traffic safety is a shared responsibility. The initiative was also supported by local schools, teachers, and parents who praised the Mumbai Police’s effort to build a generation of responsible and law-abiding citizens.
In addition to the awareness drive, the program included group discussions, Q&A sessions, and a practical demonstration of how disciplined driving helps reduce accidents.
The Ranragini team’s mission is not only to maintain order but also to nurture awareness, responsibility, and civic sense among the youth. Through such efforts, Mumbai Police continues to strengthen its bond with the community and inspire students to take proactive roles in ensuring road safety.
